Cannabis Date Night Ideas: 5 Ways to Spend a Night In (Toronto Edition)
Restaurants book up and February in Toronto is cold anyway. Five cannabis-friendly date nights you can run entirely from your living room.
January 19, 2022 · Seven Point Cannabis
Every February the same thing happens in Toronto: restaurants book out two weeks ahead, it’s minus twelve with the windchill, and half the city ends up paying $90 a plate for a prix fixe nobody loved. You can do better at home. These five date nights need nothing more than groceries, a couch, and a quick stop at the dispensary.
A note on dosing before we start: for a shared evening, less is more. A 5 mg drink or a 2.5 mg gummy each keeps the night fun. A 10 mg gummy each ends the night early.
1. Cook something with too many steps
Fresh pasta, dumplings from scratch, a curry where you toast the spices yourself. The kind of recipe you never make on a Wednesday. Split a low-dose pre-roll before you start and the chopping stops feeling like prep and starts feeling like the activity itself. The food genuinely tastes better, though we admit the science on that is informal.
Pairing: a balanced hybrid pre-roll, or a 5 mg sparkling beverage with dinner.
2. The double feature
Two movies, one theme, snack budget agreed in advance. First film picked by one of you, second by the other. The arguing about the theme is most of the fun.
Pairing: infused chocolate or sour gummies, split between you.
3. Spa night with topicals
Run a bath, light the one candle you’ve been saving, and put a cannabis topical to work on shoulders and lower back. Topicals don’t get you high, which surprises people. They just sit where you put them. This is the date night for the end of a brutal work week.
Pairing: a CBD balm plus a CBD-dominant tincture if you want the inside-out version too.
4. Cold walk, warm drink
Bundle up and do a loop through High Park or along the waterfront, then come home to hot chocolate or cannabis tea. Conversation on a cold walk goes places couch conversation doesn’t. We can’t explain it. It just does.
Pairing: a low-dose 2:1 CBD:THC tincture before you head out.
5. Make something bad on purpose
A terrible drawing of each other. A playlist with rules. A song built from GarageBand presets. Cannabis and low-stakes creativity were made for each other, and the worse the output, the better the night.
Pairing: a sativa-leaning hybrid, one small puff each.
Both Seven Point locations can set you up before the big night. Order ahead for pickup at High Park or King West and your kit is ready in minutes. 19+ only, as always.
